There's also plenty of interesting side-quests, too, such as the Scraps of Mystery and Professors Protege frog locations. It’s a good read, but I wouldn’t read it until you finish the main game and its DLCs, as it has heavy spoilers for everything. Everything except most of the Ardyn chapter and (I think) the Aranea chapter is technically non-canon (think of it as a “what if” story), and mostly serves as an alternate ending to the main game’s story.
